Accidental Blogger

I didn't always like to cook. I found it stressful and annoying. It didn't help that my cooking skills were very limited. Growing up, my brother always said I made a good grilled cheese sandwich, so I wasn't completely a lost cause.

Four years ago I became a Vegetarian, and since then I have broadened my cooking horizons greatly. Especially the last year or so. I have found that cooking is a form of therapy for me. There is a sense of accomplishment and pride when I see my finished "work of art." And yes, cooking is an art. Working with food to create something appealing to both the palate and the eye takes a special talent. However, I think that ANYONE can do it if they try.

In this blog I will be giving my recipes and helping you cook the way I cook (if you have any interest in cooking the way I cook, or you can just read for entertainment) and taking pictures of all the pretty things I make. I have had a lot of people tell me I should start a blog and give me positive words, so I thought I'd give it a go.

The name of my blog is called, Red's Cooking with Greens. For those of you who don't understand the name, it is called that because I have red hair and I cook with a lot of vegetables. The credit for the name goes to my dad,a man who loves meat and often eats it several times a day, and who often makes fun of what I make yet usually eats it and surprisingly enough, actually likes it. So if you choose to read my blog out of the other million cooking blogs out there, I thank you.
